Even in Decay…

I am always in awe over the beauty that can be found in nature. Usually when we think of beauty in regards to nature we think of flowers.  But the beauty of nature can not be and should not be confined to the blossoms that dazzle us with their colors and overwhelm our olfactory sense with the fragrant perfume like smells which permeate the air around them.  We must be conscious that the beauty of nature is not only found in the vibrant life of the flowers, but it is found elsewhere in nature.  Places that aren’t colorful or dazzling, sometimes it is in the decay of nature that beauty can be found.  Like in the decay of the petals in the photo below that give the appearance of lace.  Life, like nature, has beauty in many places–and sometimes those places aren’t the most colorful or vibrant, but they are still beautiful places, moments, and spaces.

I like the ‘unusual’ nature pictures to be honest and this is a cracker. I like the sharpness of the subject and the out of focus background to remove any distractions.

I really like this photo also. I also enjoy those things in nature that “aren’t” supposed to be the “pretty” things.

  2. These are lovely, so fragile…! Nice shot.

Love this photo! I have something similar of a decaying leaf & think they make for an interesting take on all aspects of how beautiful nature can be.
